Treating Depression

with Reflexology

To relieve symptoms of depression, a reflexology session may be focused on stimulating points which correspond to the glands that regulate neurotransmitter and hormone release in the body. These glands can include the adrenal, thyroid, parathyroid, thymus, pineal, and pituitary glands.

A course of 6-8 weekly treatments are recommended to feel the benefits of reflexology. Small changes to your lifestyle will make a big improvement to your mental wellbeing. After the treatment we can discuss the possible changes that could help and devise a plan if necessary.

What is Depression?

Depression is a long lasting low mood disorder. It affects your ability to do everyday things, feel pleasure or take interest in activities.

Symptoms include;

  • low mood, feeling sad, irritable or angry

  • having less energy to do certain things

  • losing interest or enjoyment in activities

  • loss of concentration

  • becoming tired more easily

  • disturbed sleep and losing your appetite

  • feeling guilty or worthless

Depression is a condition which can impact the entire body. It changes how we think about ourselves and other people. Depression impacts our nervous system, influences how we react to some situations, and changes our mood.
